Joint Strategy Team of organizations working with IDPs issued a statement regarding urgent humanitarian situation in Kachin state. Over 4,000 IDPs and local civilians from two camps have been forced to flee from their camps due to intensive fighting in recent days. IDPs from another camp were pushed back into Burma by the Chinese security forces when they tried to flee into China for safety. JST states that their primary concern at this time is the safety of the IDPs.
